Abu Dhabi’ Zayed Intl Airport

Abu Dhabi’ Zayed Intl Airport, the World’s Most Beautiful Airport

Zayed International Airport is now designated as the World’s Most Beautiful Airport under the Airport Category by the Prix Versailles, The World Architecture and Design Award for its architectural design. Under the auspices of UNESCO, the announcement was made at a ceremony in Paris and in parallel to celebrating the first year of operation of the airport at the 53rd Eid Al Etihad celebrations.

In just one year of operations, Zayed International Airport takes the lead in this unique and prestigious category amidst harsh competition globally and establishes international benchmarks for airport excellence.

Zayed International Airport is known for its innovative architecture, which incorporates the latest technology seamlessly with the rich cultural heritage of the UAE. This AUH is a design-excellence-symphony spread over 742,000 square meters and consists of an X-shaped architectural format, with the capacity to handle as many as 11,000 travelers and 79 aircraft at the same time.

This doubles the previous one with AUH set to manage as many as 45 million passengers in a year while pioneering the first nine biometric touchpoints in the world by 2025. “Zayed International Airport is what the UAE infers as the new future of aviation: a marriage of ambition and innovation with a belief in the destiny of the aircraft experience. That’s a very proud moment for Abu Dhabi Airports,” said Elena Sorlini, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at Abu Dhabi Airports.

Zayed International Airport complements the global titles that AUH has secured within the last twelve months, including being the fastest-growing airport in the Middle East in terms of its international seat capacity. It continues to be distinguished by an exemplary ACI ASQ satisfaction score, which ranks AUH as among the best airports in the entire globe.
